COVID-19 Updates
AUGUST 8-12, 2022
at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University
COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS
Please check back. This information may change.
Verifying COVID Status
Stanford Housing will only accommodate individuals who are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
Before checking into EVGR housing, we will need to verify two things:
your vaccination status; and
that you have tested negative for COVID-19 within the previous 24 hours.
Please come prepared to show us:
Proof of vaccination
This can be on paper or in digital form. We will not collect or store this information. We simply need to see it before you can check into campus housing.Proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the previous 24 hours
This can be on paper or in digital form (a photo of your test strip will suffice). If you haven’t tested in the previous 24 hours, we will supply you with a rapid COVID test you can take before checking in.
COVID-19 BEST PRACTICES
Before coming to campus, please complete Stanford’s “COVID-19 Hygiene Best Practices” video training.

COVID PRECAUTIONS
Please check back. This information may change.
Masks
As of July 8, masks are not required on campus, but they are still strongly recommended for all indoor activities.
Meals
For all of our meals at Hoover, we will be served and seated outside. Meals at Hoover include all lunches, plus the receptions and dinners on Monday and Thursday.
Our meals at Arrillaga Family dining commons will be served indoors, but there is outdoor seating. Meals at Arrillaga include all breakfasts, plus dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Ventilation
EVGR B was designed and built for enhanced indoor air quality. Each apartment has an air supply vent in the bedroom area and air exhaust vents in the kitchen and bathroom. These vents, powered by industrial fans on the roof, provide non-stop air circulation. For additional information, click here for the EVGR Ventilation Fact Sheet.
If you have any questions or concerns about COVID, please let Wendy know.
For more detailed information, please visit Stanford’s COVID-19 Health Alerts page for visitors.
Monkeypox Update from Stanford Health Alerts
As of July 21:
As many in our community are aware, a number of confirmed cases of monkeypox have emerged around Europe, the United States and the Bay Area. Monkeypox also has been detected in wastewater samples collected in several Bay Area locations, including Stanford, but the university has no reported cases.
These developments serve as a reminder that individuals should take steps to protect themselves and one another.
Monkeypox is not nearly as transmissible as COVID-19 and most cases are mild, but the virus can cause severe disease. The CDC has extensive information about monkeypox, including how to identify symptoms and avoid higher-risk behaviors.
The university’s Public Health Steering Committee will continue monitoring conditions and public health protocols, and will update our community as needed.
